An Amazon warehouse worker died Thursday after collapsing in the bathrooms of the company's Bessemer, Alabama fulfillment facility.
"We're deeply saddened by the passing of a member of our team, and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his loved ones during this difficult time," an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement. There are no further details publicly known about the death of the worker.
The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store union lost a fight to unionize the facility last month, though a hearing on Amazon's alleged illegal efforts to sway the election is ongoing. The NLRB could decide to force a second election as soon as sometime this week.
