The U.K.'s main regulatory body has imposed stiff restrictions on Binance, the world's biggest cryptocurrency exchange.
Binance, which is based in the Cayman Islands, is "not permitted to undertake any regulated activity in the U.K.," the Financial Conduct Authority said Saturday. Binance Markets, the company's U.K. division, was set to launch a digital asset marketplace, but has withdrawn from the process.
The FCA said it will be required to indicate the agency's restriction on its website.
