The Chinese military has denied hacking Equifax.
A spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense said the charges, which the U.S. announced on Monday when it indicted four Chinese military officers over the breach, were "groundless."
He called the accusation "judicial bullying," adding: "It is an open secret with irrefutable proof that the U.S. has long been violating international law and basic norms governing international relations by conducting large-scale, organized and indiscriminate cyber espionage."
