Darktrace jumped 43% in its first day of trading

The U.K. cybersecurity firm made its market debut on April 30 via the London Stock Exchange.

Shares of the company were originally priced at 250 pence, which gave Darktrace a valuation of £1.7 billion. With the 43% jump in share price on the day of its market debut, Darktrace achieved a valuation closer to the £3 billion the company reportedly desired.

The Cambridge-based Darktrace uses artificial intelligence to help companies monitor cybersecurity threats. It was founded by former CIA and M15 employees and has prominent former intelligence officials on its advisory board, including the ex-CIO of the CIA, Alan Wade.
