News Corp announced that it has reached a three-year agreement to provide news to Facebook users in Australia.
The deal comes shortly after Australia passed News Corp-backed legislation that requires tech platforms to pay more for news content. Facebook briefly blocked all news content in the country before coming to an agreement with the Australian government. Facebook negotiated several changes to the legislation, but it is still required to strike deals with Australian news publishers.
