Intel faces $2.18B fine in patent infringement case

A Texas court ruled on Tuesday that the chipmaker infringed on two patents owned by VLSI Technology LLC.
During the trial, Intel argued that paying VLSI, a company that counts the lawsuit as its only revenue stream, was "outrageous" and amounted to a tax on "the true innovators," according to Bloomberg.
