The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Jonathan Kanter, a longtime antagonist of Google, to head up the Justice Department's antitrust division.
One of the tech policy choices from Biden whom progressives had eagerly supported, Kanter also received backing from some conservatives who have grown fed up with the power of Big Tech.
The Justice Department is suing Google for alleged violations of competition law.
Kanter has worked for Microsoft and Yelp, both of which have objected to Google's competitive practices.
