Netflix has acquired Night School Studio, the game studio behind the supernatural thriller game Oxenfree. Terms of the deals were not disclosed, but Night School founder Sean Krankel said in a blog post Tuesday afternoon that his team would continue to work on an Oxenfree sequel.
The announcement comes as Netflix is slowly expanding its existing video game tests: After first launching mobile games via its Android app in Poland last month, the company began making games available to its subscribers in Spain and Italy Tuesday as well.
Game titles distributed via the app currently include Stranger Things: 1984, Teeter Up and Card Blast, according to screenshots shared on social media. Netflix is treating these games as perks to existing subscribers, and distributes them without ads or in-app purchases.
