Hackers believed to be working on behalf of Russia breached email accounts belonging to two U.S. government agencies this year, the Department of Treasury and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, according to multiple reports Sunday.
The group behind the intrusion also appears to be related to the recent breach and theft of cybersecurity tools from FireEye, according to reports from Reuters and The Washington Post. It's not clear how long the group has been monitoring government emails, nor is it clear how much information has been obtained.
