18-year-old Oliver Daemen will join Jeff Bezos, Mark Bezos and Wally Funk on Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket next week, the company announced.
Daemen replaces the anonymous winner of Blue Origin's $28 million auction, who Blue Origin said "has chosen to fly on a future New Shepard mission" due to "scheduling conflicts".
Blue Origin said Daemen had bought a seat on the second flight, and got moved up to fly with Bezos when the auction winner rescheduled. Daemen will become the youngest person to fly to space.
