President Trump said Congress has agreed to repeal or reform Section 230 in exchange for him signing the $2.3 trillion government spending and COVID relief bill.
"Congress has promised that Section 230, which so unfairly benefits Big Tech at the expense of the American people, will be reviewed and either be terminated or substantially reformed," Trump said in a statement on Sunday night.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not mention Section 230 reform in their statements about the president signing the massive spending package. McConnell's office said it does not have guidance on the issue at this time.
