Uber and Lyft drivers are on strike or rallying across several cities in the United States throughout Wednesday, according to the LA Times. The drivers are pushing for better pay and legal protections under the PRO Act, a proposed law that would expand workers' collective bargaining rights.
Workers are on strike or rallying in U.S. cities including Boston, Las Vegas, Baltimore, Denver, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Austin. Some Uber and Lyft drivers will also stage protests outside LAX and just outside Uber's headquarters in San Francisco. Rideshare Drivers United, a labor rights group based in Los Angeles, organized the event.
