Protocol is seeking a researcher to work on the Power Index and Braintrust franchises by analyzing different corners of the tech industry, building relationships with sources and working across the organization.
As a part of Protocol’s growing research team, you’d be working with editors across our newsroom to research and write for our rankings, and also contribute to long-term community-building strategies for our Braintrust. Success in this role will require excellent research, writing and collaboration skills and plenty of adaptability. In any given week you may be writing and editing on short-term deadlines; developing sources, methodologies or event themes; and thinking big and long-term about how to push our products into even more creative territory.
What You’ll Need:
Our ideal candidates are smart, enterprising and creative, with a knack for collaboration and communication. We’re looking for a researcher who has a wide breadth of interests and an appetite for quickly learning about, digesting and analyzing the actions of companies and executives across the tech ecosystem.
The strongest candidates will be able to switch gears quickly, write strongly and separate out what’s really important during the research process. We’re looking for someone who likes to get their hands dirty in different processes around a newsroom and views becoming familiar with the nuances of various tech industries as an exciting challenge. Our research team is built to be versatile, so we’re looking for candidates who aren’t afraid to step outside of their comfort zone and execute new tasks on the fly.
