The deputy attorney general called Section 230 ‘potentially ripe for engagement.’

In a speech on Tuesday, Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said the Justice Department is looking into changing four areas of the crucial law.

He questioned why websites don't have to defend their behavior when they "purposely" enable illegal activity, and reaffirmed that the department is considering reducing the scope of the liability protections offered.
