Twitter employees headed back to offices in New York and San Francisco Monday, Reuters reported Tuesday. The offices will work at 50 percent capacity for the time being.
Employees don't have to go back to the office if they don't want, and, a good portion of workers want to stay home. In an internal company survey, just less than half of San Francisco employees said they'd go back to the office, while just over 60 percent of New York employees said they'd work in person. Any Twitter employee who commutes to the office needs to be vaccinated.
Twitter is also adjusting employee salaries based on their cost of living, wherever that may be. The company will continue to reopen its other offices, spread out across countries including India, Ireland and France, based on the area's vaccination and Covid-19 infection rates.
